Looking back over the last hundred years, it is truly incredible to see how far women and women’s rights have come. Not only have they caught up with men in many ways, they’re actually starting to surpass them in extremely important areas. Now constituting 57% of all college graduates, women have seemed to take higher education by storm, even earning 60% of all master’s degrees awarded. The rise of women extends beyond school, too, with woman-owned businesses increasing by 50% since 1997. That is not to say that true equality has been realized – indeed, women still make 30% less money than men, on average. But it is truly amazing how much they have achieved against the odds. Women have become leaders in every level of society, and still have no where to go but up.
